Rally Wants to Play Games With Your Health

"As health care costs and obesity rates rise, health providers are turning to digital health products in an effort to meet consumers where they’re at — online," writes the San Francisco Chronicle. "San Francisco startup Rally HealthSM wants to go one step further, by turning the digital health platform it launched Tuesday into something of an online game."

The story details how Rally uses gamifcation to encourage healthy behaviors such as exercising three times a week, laying off sugar for a day, or cutting back on tobacco.

Rally already has millions of people enrolled, according to the Chronicle story. "In a January earnings call, UnitedHealth Group, which includes a division that has backed Rally Health, said it had quietly added 5 million people to the service. Rally Health has also announced a partnership with insurance provider Health Alliance."
