Rally Users Reach $1 Billion Mark in Incentives

SAN FRANCISCO & WASHINGTON -- People who use Rally® digital health and wellbeing tools have earned more than $1 billion in health-related incentive rewards since 2016 by making choices that lead to better health. Rally Health is the consumer digital health platform of Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group.

Rally helps people improve and maintain their health by encouraging simple changes in their everyday routines and helping them achieve goals and track their progress while they earn valuable incentive dollars that can be applied to a variety of health and personal priorities.

Nearly 2.5 million people use Rally each week. Rally users have set millions of health-related goals and routinely access programs for losing weight, reducing stress, staying on top of preventive care, quitting smoking and much more.

“People who use Rally are clearly more engaged with their health, and the $1 billion in incentives they’ve earned prove it,” said Rhett Woods, chief creative officer, Rally Health. “By assessing their health opportunities or simply choosing and achieving meaningful goals, people are working toward healthier lives and being rewarded for it.”

Consumers predominantly use Rally incentive rewards to support health priorities. To date, 86 percent of the employer-sponsored financial incentives earned have been applied toward planning, saving and paying for health care related expenses:

  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) contributions – 38 percent
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) Contributions – 26 percent
  • Health Benefit Premium Reduction – 22 percent

Beyond these options, many people earn gift cards and additional rewards which they can use to make charitable donations, purchase discounts or enter for a chance to win health-related products through Rally-sponsored auctions and sweepstakes.
