Spontaneous 5K Run Gets Boston Up and Moving

By Rally Staff | June 24, 2015

Who doesn't love a surprise?

Around 300 Bostonians showed up to Kevin Hart's surprise 5K run at Boston's Chestnut Hill Reservoir early on a Saturday morning. The actor and comedian was in town for the Boston stop of his "What Now?" tour. The run attracted a mix of casual and hardcore runners.

As Runner's World put it, "Though some runners take their workouts more seriously than others, running can be a laughing matter. At least it can be when you run with comedian Kevin Hart."

The hashtag #RallyWithKevin got plenty of use as the runners tweeted pictures and stories from the route.

Kevin will be hosting several of these impromptu romps as part of his partnership with Rally HealthSM, maker of the health and wellness app, RallySM. The idea is to show that fitness can be a fun part of everyday life, and not just one more chore to get done during a busy day.

Rally and Kevin teamed up because of Rally's philosophy — to help people make small changes in their daily lives, so that they might see big improvements in their health over time. Some of these small changes include laughing every day and moving more.

Kevin Hart is showing the world it's possible to do both at the same time.
