NFL players Melvin Gordon and Jarvis Landry show how small steps can put you at the top of your game.
NFL players Melvin Gordon and Jarvis Landry are the latest addition to Team Rally. As professional athletes, they both know how important diet, exercise, and other healthy habits are, and that small steps can help you be at the top of your game.
The two grew up almost a thousand miles apart — Gordon in the Midwest; Landry in a small town in Louisiana. One’s a running back; the other is a wide receiver.
But they are both rising NFL stars — Landry was selected to the Pro Bowl in only his second year, while Gordon was a high first-round draft pick — who have also excelled at multiple sports. And they’ve both overcome knee injuries.
Melvin Gordon was an All-American player at Wisconsin and Heisman candidate who was named the nation’s best running back before being selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the NFL draft. A knee injury sidelined him near the end of his first season, but he’s off to a great start in 2016, with six touchdowns so far. Off the field, he has hosted charity events for Boys and Girls Club.
Jarvis Landry had the most receptions in NFL history after two seasons and is currently No. 2 in NFL receptions for 2016. In his first year alone, he caught 84 passes for the Miami Dolphins, a club record. He was even better his second year, with 110 catches for 1,100 yards, earning him a spot at the Pro Bowl. Back home, he’s launched the annual GiveBack scholarship and backpack program for local high school students.
