Software Engineer in Test

SEIT/DATA - Software Engineer in Test  (Mid- Senior Level ONLY)

We are looking for experienced Data SEIT to join our data team, which also includes engineers and scientists, to drive our analytics, reporting, and business intelligence.

As an integral member of our team, the Data SEIT would be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of testing data in EDW and OLTP in Hadoop environment, and testing Tableau reports. Data SEIT will be utilizing Airflow, Pentaho, Oozie (or similar) ETL tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Vocal champion of quality within the organization
  • Work with the most technically challenging components to create automated testing scenarios
  • Work as a key contributor to increasing the speed and quality of key deliverables
  • Drive organization-wide adoption of automated testing frameworks
  • Ability to succeed in fast-paced, Agile environment
  • Assessing current processes and recommending changes as needed
  • Willing to contribute to manual functional testing as needed

Skills:

  • Hands on experience is required in big data platforms
  • Ability to write complex SQL Queries
  • Ability to build automation frameworks from scratch
  • Comfortable working in unix and able to write basic shell scripts
  • Experience working with Pentaho, Airflow, Oozie, or similar ETL platforms
  • Hands on experience working with Hadoop, Hive, MongoDB and Postgres
  • Experience working with Python for ETL and data manipulations
  • Strong prioritization and time-management skills
  • Experience leading small teams and projects
  • Spark knowledge is a bonus
