Senior Data Scientist - Product

Do you love data and want to help people find better and easier ways to manage their health and wellness? Rally’s mission is to help people become healthier by putting health and wellness tools and crucial information in their own hands. We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our data team focusing on product development across the Rally Engage ecosystem.

The data scientist will collaborate with the Rally Engage product and leadership teams to improve our customer’s lives by improving the product through KPI development, experimentation, exploratory research, day-to-day support of the product team, and acting as a data subject matter expert. The data scientist will also also empower the product team to improve and develop machine learning driven product features in partnership with data science and engineering teams.

Your background:

  • You are passionate about improving products and people’s lives through data.
  • You have a demonstrated track record of solving challenging business problems with a wide variety of data science tools in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • You are highly technical and hands-on, but are also capable of seeing beyond the numbers with an understanding of how end users interact with our products.

You are great at:

  • Producing high-quality repeatable research that drives simple, elegant and actionable stories in a collaborative environment
  • Understanding and defining what a minimally viable data science product is and how to reach an actionable end state with an economy of effort
  • Working with customers, product, and engineers to understand where and how data can be helpful
  • Championing quality; you are able to QA and then vouch for the integrity of our data output
  • Transforming complicated problems into simpler, tractable ones
  • Communicating insights to non-technical colleagues
  • Learning new things

Requirements:

  • 3+ years direct work experience as a Data Scientist supporting product development
  • Demonstrated experience with data-driven product development (A/B testing, time series analysis, etc.); you know when a bar chart is good enough and when it’s not
  • Strong track record of solving business challenges with data using scripting languages (such as Python or R) and SQL

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with behavioral and claims data-driven research
  • Experience using ML to solve business problems
  • Experience in a big data environments, like Hadoop or Spark
  • PhD in a quantitative field
  • Healthcare or wellness specific business knowledge
