Work Hours/Schedule: Shift begins at 9am or 10am Pacific Time Zone, 4 or 5 workdays

About the Team: 

Real Appeal is a proprietary, 52-week intensive lifestyle intervention program that focuses on helping participants lose weight and maintain weight loss. Our goal is to mitigate or prevent obesity-related issues such as pre-diabetes, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. The Messaging Health Coach is responsible for learning and delivering the program content in a way that engages members to make lifestyle changes and establish healthier habits. The primary focus for this position is to respond to member messages and provide personalized support and accountability during the various stages of weight loss.

Your core responsibilities: 

  • Review messages sent by members and utilize approved internal resources and systems to write replies to those messages as the “voice of the coach.” 
  • Provide individualized support to all members to guide an understanding and execution of the Real Appeal program.
  • Provide exceptional follow up by responding in a timely manner to all questions, concerns and motivational needs.
  • Be prepared for all education sessions, accurately notate member progress, and expertly understand specifics to help each member succeed.
  • Collaborate with fellow coaches and utilize continued training to optimize coaching methods.
  • Maintain all interactions following HIPAA process along within the appropriate scope of practice.
  • Ensure compliance with our work from home policy which requires all coaches to be at their computers during their scheduled shift

About you:

  • 1+ years of experience in a Real Appeal member operations role —or— 3+ years of call center, customer service, health coaching and/or related work experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including written, spoken, and on-camera presentation.
  • Experience working with technology and various software programs; analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments and competing priorities with focus and a positive attitude.
  • Self-discipline within a telecommuting environment, holding oneself to a given schedule; designated workspace free of distractions to protect member privacy and ensure quality management of group sessions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • Health, Wellness, Fitness or Coaching Experience or Coaching Certifications
