The Fraud Analyst is responsible for day-to-day operations of Rally’s Fraud program by analyzing trends and data from the overall fraud detection system, reviewing alerts triggered by a suite of detection tools, taking all necessary steps to mitigate fraud and information security risk, reviewing incoming member-reported fraud events for patterns and trends, and compiling actionable recommendations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in detection and triaging of suspicious web activities to determine if fraudulent activity has occurred or is likely to occur.

  • Vet system alerts indicating potential high-risk account activities and investigate referrals made by Customers, Customer Support and Client Support

  • Review and analyze large volumes of data to identify emerging transactions trends and uncover new fraud patterns

  • Develop messaging, in conjunction with the Privacy Team, to address user concerns related to fraud

  • Provide support on fraud-related security incidents

  • Analyze and interpret systems logs, audit logs and access history to uncover fraud activities

  • Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation of analysis performed and communicate with internal stakeholders as appropriate

  • Participate in Anti-Fraud Operations meetings to stay abreast of internal emerging issues and threats

Qualifications:

  • Ability to extract meaningful business insights from data and identify the stories behind the patterns

  • Detail oriented with excellent follow through

  • Advanced analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work

  • Self-starter who demonstrates flexibility, curiosity and resourcefulness

  • Strong background in Microsoft Excel

  • 0-2 year of experience in non-financial Fraud Investigations or Data Analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field: computer science, engineering, math, statistics etc.

  • Experience in Identity Theft, Identity Management, and mitigation of Account Takeovers

  • Experience using a Risk Based Assessment tool in investigations

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations around user data

  • 1-2 years experience using Splunk

  • 1-2 years experience in Python
