Business Intelligence Developer, Tableau

Rally's data team is dedicated to analyzing data from consumers interactions with their healthcare insurers and providers, monitor trends, and develop strategies and opportunities to improve their health and lower their costs. We partner with employers and healthcare insurers, providing a great UI for covered members and their families to handle both their health and healthcare options. We develop actionable insights for population health management and positive recommendations for ways individuals can improve their health and handle their costs.

As an integral member of our team, the Tableau Developer would be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of critical enterprise E2E Business Intelligence ETL solutions in Tableau, sourcing data from HDFS, Amazon Redshift, MongoDB or Postgres environments and utilizing SQL, Python, Spark, and Hive.


  • Design, develop implement, and support of critical Business Intelligence solutions in Tableau
  • Drive organization-wide data quality best practises
  • Assess and improve current processes and recommend changes as needed
  • Be able to perform manual data quality testing as requested in business requirements

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • A BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience using Tableau for the creation and automation of Enterprise Scale dashboards, standard reports, scorecards, and ad-hoc reports
  • Experience with advanced Tableau topics such as complex calculations, LOD, table calculations, parameters, geographic mapping, and performance optimization
  • Experience working with multiple disparate data sources in Tableau, including HDFS, Redshift, Postgres, Mongo, and others

Useful Skills and Experience: 

  • Healthcare specific business intelligence (informatics) including population health management from a payer perspective
  • Understanding concepts of data warehousing, statistics
  • Understanding of various data extraction and transformation techniques with data sourced in HDFS, MongoDB, and Postgres
  • Familiar with Data Visualization standard methodologies and Best Practices
