Are you a seasoned email marketer looking to use your expertise to help consumers better navigate the healthcare industry? We are looking for a Senior Email Marketing Manager to help take our marketing automation programs to the next level. Your work will include managing and executing on user acquisition and engagement journeys, and dreaming up smart and effective ways to keep our users engaged (while leveraging data and Salesforce Marketing Cloud). Email and Marketing Automation is a very important channel at Rally, allowing us to directly communicate what matters to both our members and our clients. The Rally email team is focused on creating and delivering digital communications that span email, SMS, and mobile push notifications that are relevant, engaging, impactful, and outcome-driven.

You will be responsible for driving campaigns and projects from start to finish. You will also have the opportunity to own/improve email production and operations. Your work will include (in partnership with stakeholders) campaign planning, segmentation, configuration of email series for automation, email execution and QA, reporting and analytics, and optimization. The successful candidate will be strategic, tactical and influential. The candidate should also have experience in building, managing and leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Drive email and marketing automation strategy with user data, content, relevancy, smart segmentation and personalization
  • Review the competitive landscape and implement best practices for email and marketing automation to include email, SMS, and mobile push notifications
  • Assist with the development and execution of our email marketing roadmap and strategies that support our business objectives
  • Participate in strategic planning and provide email metrics forecast to meet business goals
  • Maintain/monitor IP and domain reputation health

 

Operations and Execution

  • Own email campaigns and projects end to end. Manage the development and execution. Build queries and hit the send button on emails to millions of users.
  • Design and code email templates in HTML/CSS to be compatible with different email clients, web browsers, and mobile
  • Plan and execute ongoing testing (layout, format, frequency, copy, etc.) to continuously improve email performance focused on user engagement driving towards our KPIs
  • Develop weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting on email performance
  • Provide channel and campaign level analysis; make recommendations to optimize email performance
  • Act as Project Manager for projects including managing email deliverables within engineering and data sprints, clarifying requirements, managing the interdependencies, establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with key stakeholders
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Data, Design, Content, Sales, Legal, Product, Engineering) to create and oversee email campaigns across a variety of content and audiences – Rally platform, B2B, B2C, sales, events, partner marketing, etc.
  • Work within a third-party ESP to manage, execute and optimize campaigns
  • Improve QA for email campaign efficiency and accuracy
  • Establish processes and best practices to achieve email operational excellence

Requirements:

  • 8 years minimum dedicated email and marketing automation experience
  • Hands-on experience with leading ESPs - Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ExactTarget (preferred), SendGrid, Constant Contact, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML/CSS and Ampscript to create and refresh HTML templates
  • Ability to plan, execute, and manage multiple programs at once under tight timelines
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in reporting and BI tools
  • Deep understanding of databases
  • Experience building and running automation programs
  • Knowledge of A/B test strategies, multivariate test strategies, and test planning
  • Deep understanding of email and marketing automation best practices, changing industry trends, especially for mobile
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing business
  • Ability to work across various levels of the organization while building trust and fostering collaboration
  • Collaborate, cooperate and manage timelines with all stakeholders (Marketing, Data, Creative, Legal, Sales, Finance, and Content teams), ensuring that their needs are met and goals achieved
  • Solid experience managing complex projects
  • Willingness to singularly manage all aspects of a program
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with tight deadlines, and cope with changes
  • Ability to multitask and take the lead on several projects simultaneously
  • A desire to consistently enhance emails, bringing new ideas to the table – both strategic and executional
  • Excellent communicator
  • Incredible attention to detail and an eye for quality
  • SQL experience preferred
