Sr. Project Manager - DevOps

We're looking for a technical project manager with experience using agile methodologies to facilitate and improve operations and release management processes.

  • Work with diverse teams and leadership to determine the right tailored process to drive success.
  • Work with all players to get consensus, buy-in and implement cleanly.
  • Oversee projects which impact the scaling of hundreds of virtual machines and run a variety of technologies in AWS.
  • Work with operations in addition to development and security to meet those partner expectations.
  • Make process changes to get to better, faster production code deployments.
  • Coach the team into delivering value to the organization incrementally and on a consistent cadence.
  • Work with Tech Leads and Product Owners to complete high level sizing to validate team and mid-level roadmaps
  • Negotiate with functional managers to secure resources required to execute cross-product projects
  • Work with team to size stories/requirements building a reliable team velocity that enables the team to improve their own estimates
  • Facilitate all team meetings necessary to ensure clear planning, forecasting, and communication occur across the team and outside of the team.
  • Establish program plans and schedules with cross functional teams to make sure all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of the project.
  • Use creativity and resourcefulness in mediating and resolving program team conflicts to maintain effectiveness of the teams.


  • At least 5 years of dynamic experience in leading software development projects.
  • Experience in an interrupt-driven, incident or helpdesk type of management environment. Training in ITIL a big plus.
  • Experience implementing agile and/or kanban methodologies.
  • Experience and understanding of data center architecture, cloud-based and co-located application architecture.
  • Experience in managing operations and/or systems engineers.
  • Start-up/entrepreneurial experience (i.e. effectively work in ambiguity with proven results).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on highly technical topics, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience running teams using JIRA and other similar tools that provide agile tracking mechanisms.

And for bonus points:

  • You've managed large scale production system projects using Amazon Web Services.
  • You’ve managed complex projects that involve RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, RESTful APIs, and/or MongoDB (or other large scale RDBMS or NoSQL database systems).
  • You have experience with tools like Jenkins and git.
