Manager, Software Engineering in Test

We are looking for a Software Engineer in Test (SEiT) Manager with a successful track record of success in building and leading medium to big size SEiT teams. You and your team will be at the center of engineering process developing software that will empower engineers to develop and deliver high-quality products faster without sacrificing quality or stability. Focusing on solving complex and interesting challenges faced by software development at scale.

You and your SEiT Team will partner with development teams, testing teams, and operations teams at Rally to build scalable tools that help engineers develop, test, and release software quickly. We have a creative culture that creates new opportunities for motivated technical leaders.


  • Identify and drive SQA Best Practices in the teams
  • Lead, mentor, grow, and coach a team of SEiT members
  • Review and adjust SQA resource allocations based on Rally business priorities
  • Ensure delivery of quality products; define and implement your quality standards in the team
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise within SEiT team
  • Focus on continuous SQA improvements including usage of appropriate testing tools, testing techniques, test automation
  • Monitoring of all the SQA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identifying areas of improvement. Implement steps required to improve the processes
  • Collect testing metrics and testing activities for the projects to key stakeholders
  • Be the focal point for all matters related to testing and quality assurance and operate as a primary point of contact for the SEiT teams.
  • Act as hands on contributor as needed


  • 3+ years of SEiT Management experience across multiple projects
  • 5+ years of recent experience with automated testing and testing tools
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (Python, Bash)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritize work and tasks with ongoing priorities
  • Experience in continuous delivery environment using an iterative Agile methodology
  • Ability to build relationships within cross-functional teams and resolve conflict effectively
  • Experience leading offshore and remote resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
