Email Marketing Manager

Are you a passionate email marketing professional looking to use your subject matter expertise to help consumers better navigate the healthcare industry? We are looking for an Email Marketing Manager to help manage, build, and execute on our various communication programs, including emails, text, and push notifications. This role will work with the marketing team, product owners, and other stakeholders, focused on creating and delivering communications that are relevant, engaging, impactful, and outcome driven.

You will be creating marketing campaigns to drive product acquisition and engagement, product retention journeys from inception through launch, working with the team to implement them in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This role is responsible for setup, testing, as well as ongoing measurement and optimization. Your work will include (in partnership with stakeholders) campaign planning, segmentation, end to end journey configuration, execution and QA, reporting and analytics, and optimization.



  • Partner with CRM team to drive email strategy with content, relevancy, smart segmentation and personalization

  • Review the competitive landscape and implement email and marketing automation best practices

  • Assist with the development of our email marketing roadmap and strategies that support our business objectives

  • Participate in strategic planning and provide metrics forecast to meet business goals

  • Maintain/monitor IP and domain reputation health

Operation and Execution:

  • Own automation journeys end to end. Manage the development and execution. Build SQL queries, perform thorough validation of each journey and activate messaging to millions of users.

  • Design and code email templates in HTML/CSS/Ampscript to be compatible on different email clients, web browsers, and mobile

  • Plan and execute ongoing testing (layout, format, frequency, copy, etc.) to continuously improve communications performance focused on user engagement driving towards our KPIs

  • Develop weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reporting on campaign performance for every journey touchpoint

  • Provide channel and campaign level analysis; make recommendations to optimize performance

  • Act as Project Manager for projects including managing deliverables within engineering and data sprints, clarifying requirements, managing the interdependencies, establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with key stakeholders

  • Work with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Data, Design, Content, Sales, Legal, Product, Engineering) to create and oversee marketing automations across a variety of content and audiences – Rally platform, B2B, B2C, sales, events, partner marketing, etc.

  • Act as subject matter expert when it comes to email marketing and automation, continuously improve QA for campaign efficiency, accuracy, and come up with new test and learn ideas to further enhance campaign/program performance.


  • Email and Marketing Automation subject matter expertise

  • 3-5 years of dedicated Email Marketing experience

  • Solid background in building and supporting user journey implementations (email required, SMS text and push notifications for extra points)

  • Hands-on experience with leading ESPs a must - Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ExactTarget experience strongly preferred

  • Extensive knowledge of HTML/CSS and Ampscript to create and refresh email templates

  • Experience with setting up API driven triggered marketing touchpoints

  • Ability to plan, execute, and manage multiple programs at once

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in reporting and BI tools

  • Deep understanding of databases, with solid hands-on SQL experience

  • Knowledge of A/B test strategies, multivariate test strategies, and test planning

  • Deep understanding of email marketing best practices, marketing communication channel best practices and changing industry trends, especially for mobile

  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing business, and cope well with pressure and changes

  • Ability to work across various levels of the organization while building trust and fostering collaboration

  • Proven experience in collaborating and managing timelines with all stakeholders (Marketing, Data, Creative, Legal, Sales, Finance, and Content teams), ensuring that their needs are met and goals are achieved
