The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting and contributing to the overall business strategy, development of new programs, or adjustments to existing programs, to enable consumption from buyers, and execution of such programs. More broadly, you will be a utility player, comfortable stepping into any role at any time to help accomplish the goals and objectives of the organization. This role will aid in sales and the execution of sound financial and operational discipline related to such growth, client retention and success. Primary responsibility will be developing an employer focused pipeline and sales success. Further responsibilities would include the coordination and application of Marketing and Product Management resources.

This role will also include a significant presence in the marketplace through client and consulting relationship building.

Responsibilities:

  • You will engage with VP level decision makers at Fortune 1000 companies
  • You will support on sales strategy, RFPs, finalist meetings, focusing on large, strategic accounts
  • You will initiate and develop key relationships within the industry to gain insight to enhance product features and become market leaders with a vision on risks and opportunities
  • You will build relationships with major consulting firms and other regional players, as applicable, to provide Rally’s POV, differentiators
  • You will create and keep current content and facilitate trainings for various distribution channels
  • You will provide Rally Sales and Product leadership with competitive intelligence gained through sales meetings, consultant feedback and industry forums; bridge gap between customers and Product; translate market needs to influence changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position
  • You will work in partnership with Product Management leadership to develop market-facing approach
  • You will develop effective cross functional relationships with staff, peers, and senior leadership both internally and within appropriate partners.
  • You will promote company culture and effective behavior
  • You will support senior leadership on long range planning projects and ad hoc requests

This role is a remote, with up to 80% of travel. Preference for individuals based in Minneapolis, Dallas, Chicago, SF, LA, DC, NYC, or ATL.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in relevant discipline
  • Passion for technology, strong business acumen in the tech space
  • Ability to learn quickly, understand and work with new emerging technologies.
  • At least 5 years experience as a sales engineer to Fortune 1000 companies
  • Demonstrated experience managing the software development process
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting digital solutions to c-suite executives
  • Strong Presentation experience
  • Executive Presence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the healthcare space
  • Experience with payors or employers as it relates to benefits
  • Experience in Product Management
  • Previous experience as a Sales Engineer, Product Manager, Solution Consultant (in technology)
  • Prior experience with large employers, and technology startups, while not necessary, is a bonus.
