Responsibilities:

  • Build features that align to our vision, tackle challenging technical problems and learn from others in the process
  • We are working on interesting technical challenges in the areas of web performance, server scalability, online data architecture, analytics, personalization, recommendations and more
  • Our current tech stack includes Scala using the Play framework, AngularJS, MongoDB, Kafka, PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch
  • Join a best-in-class team of engineers and have the autonomy to help architect full solutions that scale to fit our user growth.

Positions are available in Washington DC, San Francisco, CA, and Chicago, IL.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or a related field
  • Graduating with a degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with a compiled language like Scala, Java, or C#
  • Design experience, including knowledge of common design patterns and relevant libraries
  • Familiarity with Scala or a strong interest to learn
  • Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL database concepts
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs
  • You have a passion in developing highly-scalable and performant web applications that are designed for a top user experience
  • You want to become a Scala web framework expert using Play
  • You love designing and shipping REST APIs for other developers
  • You are interested in working on Big Data and you want to solve hard problems in that space
  • You like building cutting-edge user interfaces using AngularJS
  • Great collaborator and team player
  • High levels of creativity and quick problem solving capabilities
  • Results oriented and focused on delivering on time and with quality
  • Proven software engineering experience previous internship, work experience, or coding competitions
