Events Marketing Director

We are looking for an Events Marketing Director to help lead and manage large-scale consumer events, trade shows, client events and other health industry events.  Consumers event is one of the key initiatives to generate awareness of the Rally brand, while client events and tradeshows are critical components to build our business.  The events team plan and execute from intimate exec gathering to big scale consumer programs that accommodate thousands.

You will be responsible for strategic planning and execution of mass consumer events that drives brand awareness, contributing to and executing thought leadership around individual events that support overall sales goals, marketing plans and key message. The successful candidate will have a strong event marketing experience that includes developing and producing events through solid positioning, messaging, event planning, contract negotiating, and cross-functional relations to ensure a flawless execution at each event. The candidate should also experience in building, managing and leading a team of event marketers, vendors, and partners.


  • Event strategy:
    • Develop event strategies that include input from cross-functional teams and align with overall Rally strategy, branding, and internal goals.
    • Define, evaluate and report on events success metrics
    • Manage event budget
    • Drive process and efficiency in event planning and operations
    • Present event strategy and concepts to executives
  • Event programming:
    • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure positioning, messaging, goals, deliverables, and tactics are achieved before, during, and after each respective event
    • Ensure events deliver impact both at the messaging level as well as the client level
  • Event production:
    • Develop and produce event programs for consumer and business audience, including mass consumer events, business conferences, tradeshows, sponsorships and client on-site activations.
    • Develop and review creative concepts for events and work with various stakeholders to build and enhance programs
    • Work with marketing and events partners including agencies, catering, security, live stream/video, registration, facilities, shipping, and other event logistics partners
    • Foster feedback loop with cross-functional teams to continually measure event effectiveness – define and refine event metrics as part of overall marketing effectiveness
    • Manage project timelines
    • Manage events budget
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine best practices and standards across Rally, and then build on them for future event planning, execution and measurement
    • Cultivate strong industry relationships with marketing partners and key vendors
    • Work to ensure the Rally story/messaging is integrated into all event experiences



  • 10+ years experience of events marketing experience
  • Direct experience programming and/or producing various-sized events from 50 to 20,000+ attendees. Large scale consumer event marketing experience a plus.
  • Fully manage event planning and operations from start to finish: identifying venues, vendor management, presenting standard terms, logistics,labor, decor, f&b, sponsor integration, onsite management, post-event evaluation, budget, etc.
  • Collaborate and manage timeline with event stakeholders (Marketing, Creative, Legal, B2B Marketing, PR, Sales, Finance, Partnerships, Content and Community teams), ensuring that their needs are met and goals achieved via events.
  • Create event overview, briefs and reports for pre-planning communications and post-event evaluation.
  • Work with event requesters and partners to identify opportunities and create additional branding opportunities at events
  • Ability to work across various levels of the organization while building trust and fostering collaboration
  • Production experience in all aspects of event management
  • Solid experience managing complex projects and budgets
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with tight deadlines, and cope with changes
  • Ability to multitask and take the lead on several events simultaneously
  • Excellent communicator
  • Familiarity with competitive event landscape
  • Desire to consistently enhance events, bringing new ideas to the table – both strategic and executional
  • Willingness to singularly manage all aspects of a program
